I need to understand
I need to reflect
only then will I be free

Shaolin

电影《新少林寺》主题曲
作词:刘德华
作曲:赵钦

无量心 生福报 无极限 without measuring how much the heart can give, blessings sprout without limits
无极限 生息息 爱相连 without limits, life survives, love connects
为何君视而不见 规矩定方圆 but why do you ignore that the way you live sets it all
悟性 悟觉 悟空 心甘情愿 enlightenment through conscience, consciousness and emptiness comes from a willing heart

放下颠倒梦想 放下云烟 let go of twisted dreams, let go of passing fame
放下空欲色 放下悬念 let go of empty lusts, let go of desires
多一物 却添了太多危险 having more led to much danger
少一物 贪嗔痴会少一点 having less will lead to lesser afflictions

若是缘 再苦味也是甜 should it be fate, no matter how bitter, it will be sweet
若无缘 藏爱 在心田 should there be no fate, keep the love in your heart
尘世 藕断还丝连 回首一瞬间 what may seems to be broken could still be connected, it only takes a moment to look back
种颗善因 陪你走好每一天 plant a good beginning to accompany you through a good life

唯有心无挂碍成就大愿 only when the heart is unhindered can the biggest wishes be fulfilled
唯有心无故妙不可言 only when the heart is unbounded by the past is it at its best
算天算地 算尽了从前 no matter how much we estimate
算不出生死会在哪一天 we can never know when we would meet death

勿生恨 点化虚空的眼 do not hate, disillusion your eyes
勿生怨 欢喜不遥远 do not resent, happiness is ahead
缠绕欲望的思念 善恶一瞬间 the thoughts that surrounds the desires, good and evil are momentary
心怀忏悔 陪你走好每一天 the heart repents to accompany you through a good life

再牢的谎言 却逃不过天眼 no matter how good the lie is, it cannot escape God's eyes
明日之前 心流离更远 and before tomorrow, the heart will wander even farther
浮云霎那间 障眼 人心渐离间 the instance of clouds blur the eye, the heart falters
集苦连连 不断的出现 the bitterness in life would connect and appear continuously

无量心 生福报 无极限
无极限 生息息 爱相连

凡人却视而不见 规矩定方圆 yet we still ignore that the way we live sets it all
悟性 悟觉 悟空 心甘情愿 enlightenment through conscience, consciousness and emptiness comes from a willing heart
簡簡單單 陪你走好每一天 living with simplicity to accompany you through a good life

I love how he meshed the story in the movie with the 心經 in Buddhism :)
I don't know how to translate thoroughly everything that he has penned into lyrics, and I can't translate it word for word.
Basically it means that we shouldn't be so rigid about the things in life.

I'm very touched by this song, especially when it reached the part:

"若是缘 再苦味也是甜
若无缘 藏爱 在心田"

The moment I listened to this part, a very natural itch to the nose came to me. It's not as if I want to cry
..it's because it's true.
There are too many things in life.
If you have it, you have it. Appreciate it.
If you don't, then leave it be. Appreciate what you have now.
If it's meant to be yours, no matter what, it will be yours.
If it's not meant to be yours, then leave it be.

做人別太執著。 有就有, 沒有 也沒什麽大不了。
不是你的就不要。 一定會有更好的東西在前方。
然而 放開了拳頭也就可以放輕鬆 :)

Oh, and by the way. The song is called Wu. Enlightenment :)

Credits to AndyLauSounds.com for the lyrics! :D

Do You See What I See?

Today on Twitter I spotted one meaningful twit retweeted.

It's by the Dalai Lama.

"I believe that whether a person follows any religion or not is unimportant, he or she must have a good heart, a warm heart."

..and I know that I should follow his tweets.

I don't know how, but somehow I feel peace,
like I can be saved as long as I read his words; having a good, warm heart is most important.

..because I've always been narrow-minded, and I believe his words will broaden my horizons.

Here are the few I find especially meaningful, if not to you, to me at the very most.

"We need to make a concerted effort to develop compassion; we must use all the events in our daily life to transform out thoughts & behavior."

"If you use violence, you may get some temporary satisfaction. But the nature of violence is unpredictable - unexpected results often happen."

"Anger may bring extra energy, but it eclipses the best part of our brain: its rationality. The energy of anger is almost always unreliable."

Yes. I keep forgetting that too. That violence, anger, aggression: they all bring nothing but pain, nothing but more problems, nothing close to solutions.

"Irrespective of doctrinal and other differences, all major world religions are concerned with helping individuals become good human beings."

I love this, and I whole-heartedly agree.

"Living a truly ethical life, putting the needs of others first and providing for their happiness, has tremendous implications for society."

So you see, it's not stupid ;)

"A compassionate person creates a warm, relaxed atmosphere of welcome and understanding around him."

I want this. I want to be able to achieve this naturally.

"The most important benefit of patience consists in the way it acts as a powerful antidote to the affliction of anger."

"The important thing is that our day-to-day life should be meaningful, that our attitude should be positive, happy and warm."

I don't know why, but this reminds me of the message from God that the Facebook application gave me.

As of now, I'm trying to maintain positive, but I'm still tired and worn out.
I believe that I shouldn't rest until I've completed my work, that I don't deserve rest until I do. But no, it's not true. Today, I felt terrible. I lacked sleep, and I lacked patience whilst talking with my grandmother. I lacked rest, and now my back aches. All this contribute to the lack of health, and now my performance is staggered.

A few hours ago, I found the message to be a temptation instead of a word of advice. Now I believe, yes, I should sleep, because in a way, God's saying; I should take care of myself before I take care of my priorities. Because, it is me, myself and I who will be taking care of my priorities. So as I get peace, and have enough rest, I will be good and set to do more.

That's the whole point.

"Once our mind is more calm and joyful, then our activities can be more effective."

(:

"When tragedy or misfortune comes our way, if we can shift our focus away from self and toward others, we experience a freeing effect."

"Genuine friends come only on the basis of warm-heartedness."

..which is why I love all my friends (:
You're all real,
and sometimes I feel not on par.
Although that could just be my lack of self-esteem self speaking.

"Loving thoughts and actions are clearly beneficial for our physical and mental health."

"More often than not, anger is actually an indication of weakness rather than of strength."

I'm weak.
But trying to be stronger (:

"The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater our own sense of well being becomes."

I'll end with this =)

Good night.
